Wash and soak rice and urad dal for 3-4 hours.
Drain the water and take in a mixer.
Grind to smooth paste adding little water.
Transfer to the bowl
Add salt and mix. Allow it to ferment for 6-8 hours or overnight.
Add capsicum, finely chopped green chilli, ginger, grated coconut, cumin, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
Mix to form a thick batter. Can add few drops of water to adjust the consistency if it is too thick.
Grease the pan with ghee or oil.
Pour the batter to the pan.
Place the pan in stove now.
Close the lid and slow cook for 15- 20 minutes.
Once it is cooked, carefully flip the pitha.
Cook again for 8-10 minutes.
Savoury poda pitha is ready. Serve it with any curry or you can have them as such too.
