Soya Chunks Manchurian Recipe | Air Fried Soya Manchurian

Soya Chunks Manchurian is a delicious starter made where air-fried soya chunks are tossed with sauces.

Ingredients

  • Soya chunks 50 grams
  • Onion 1
  • Green chili 2
  • Garlic 5-6
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 1.5 tbsp
  • Tomato sauce 2-3 tbsp
  • Green chilli sauce ½ tbsp
  • Vinegar 1 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp finely chopped.

Marination

  • Rice flour 1.5 tbsp
  • Maida/Wheat flour 1.5 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste ½ tsp optional
  • Salt as required
  • Pepper powder ½ tsp

Instructions

  • Boil hot water and soak the soya chunks for 10 minutes.
  • Drain and squeeze the soya.
  • Take rice flour, wheat flour, ginger garlic paste, salt, and pepper powder in a bowl.
  • Add little water, mix to form a thick paste.
  • Add soya chunks to it
  • Mix till it is nicely coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer at 190°C for 3 minutes. Place the marinated soya chunks in the basket.
  • Air fry them for 12-15 minutes till it is crispy. Shake the basket halfway through.
  • Alternatively, you can fry the marinated soya chunks.
  • Heat oil and add finely chopped garlic and green chilli.
  • Then add chopped onions and fry for 2-3 minutes till golden.
  • Next add soya sauce, tomato sauce, green chilli sauce, red chilli powder, salt, pepper powder, and vinegar.
  • Sprinkle little water and sauce on high flame for 1-2 minutes.
  • Then add the soya granules to it.
  • Mix till it is combined and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Air Fried soya Manchurian is ready. Enjoy it with fried rice.

Notes

Rice flour can be replaced with cornflour.
Wheat flour can be replaced with maida
Adjust the sauces according to your preference. You can taste and add as required.
I fried a separate batch and gave it to the kids. They like to eat without sauces.
You can mix little corn flour with water and add if you are making it as gravy
