Tandoori Aloo Recipe | Aloo Tikka Recipe | How to make Tandoori Potatoes

Potatoes are marinated with tandoori masala and grilled in a pan/oven.

Ingredients

  • Baby potatoes 750 grams
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder ½ tsp
  • Kasturi methi 1 tbsp
  • Curd 1 cup
  • Lemon juice from ½ lemon

Instructions

  • Peel the skin of potatoes and wash them. Cut them into half if it is big.
  • Boil potatoes in pan adding water and cook them till half done. Don't make them too mushy.
  • Drain the water and keep it aside.
  • Take all the other ingredients in a bowl.
  • Mix to form a thick paste. Add few drops of water if required.
  • Add the cooked potatoes and marinate them for 2 hours or overnight.
  • Line the marinated potatoes in baking tray.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 C and bake in the same temperature 15-20 minutes till roasted. Check and flip the potatoes after 12 minutes.
  • Serve Tandoori Aloo with green chutney.

Notes

I used baby potatoes but you can use normal ones and cut them as cubes
Adjust the spices according to your preference.
You can put the normal curd in muslin cloth and filter the water to prepare hung curd if your curd is more watery. You can use greek yogurt.
You can shallow fry them in pan instead of baking
