Tomato Sauce Recipe | Tomato Ketchup | Homemade Tomato Sauce

Tomato sauce is sweet and tangy condiment made with tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes ½ kg
  • Cloves 2
  • Cinnamon powder ½ tsp
  • Garlic 6-7
  • Salt as required
  • Sugar 3 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Vinegar ¼ cup

Instructions

  • Chop the tomatoes roughly.
  • Take them in pressure cooker along with cloves, cinnamon powder, garlic, red chilli powder and salt.
  • Pressure cook them for 3-4 whistles
  • Once it cools down, take them in mixer.
  • Grind to smooth paste.
  • Strain the puree by adding little water.
  • Completely strain them and discard the leftover.
  • Take the puree in pan and add sugar and vinegar.
  • Allow it to boil till sauce becomes thick and reaches correct consistency of the sauce.
  • Cool down and store in sterilize jar.
  • Homemade tomato ketch up is ready.

Notes

Use fresh and juicy tomatoes.
Adjust the spices and sugar according to your preference.
It stays good for one month
Always use clean spoon and store in fridge.
You can add one onion along with tomatoes too
