Tomato Sauce Recipe | Tomato Ketchup | Homemade Tomato Sauce recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Tomato sauce is sweet and tangy condiment made with tomatoes. It is served as side dish for snacks and starters. One of the basic sauce which is loved by kids. Homemade tomato sauce is always free of preservatives and we can customize the spices.
We use vinegar as preservative for the sauce. You can substitute with lemon juice too. Choose juicy and fresh tomatoes. Color of the tomato sauce depends on the tomatoes. You can adjust the sugar and spices according to your taste. Store in clean container and use clean spoon while using. It will stay good up to 1 month. Mostly it will be over before that for me as I make in small batches.

Tomato Sauce Recipe | Tomato Ketchup | Homemade Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
- Tomatoes ½ kg
- Cloves 2
- Cinnamon powder ½ tsp
- Garlic 6-7
- Salt as required
- Sugar 3 tbsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Vinegar ¼ cup
Instructions
- Chop the tomatoes roughly.
- Take them in pressure cooker along with cloves, cinnamon powder, garlic, red chilli powder and salt.
- Pressure cook them for 3-4 whistles
- Once it cools down, take them in mixer.
- Grind to smooth paste.
- Strain the puree by adding little water.
- Completely strain them and discard the leftover.
- Take the puree in pan and add sugar and vinegar.
- Allow it to boil till sauce becomes thick and reaches correct consistency of the sauce.
- Cool down and store in sterilize jar.
- Homemade tomato ketch up is ready.

How to make tomato sauce with step by step pictures
