Khoya or Mawa is one the key ingredient used in many Indian sweets. Traditional method of preparing mawa involves simmering milk in low flame till all water content is evaporated and left with milk solids.
This instant method just requires three ingredients milk powder, milk and ghee. We can prepare this instant khoya in ten minutes. Using good quality milk powder is key to preparing khoya. It stays good up to one week in fridge.We can use khoya in variety of sweets like gulab jamun, peda, chum chum etc.

Instant Khoya Recipe | Mawa using Milk Powder
Ingredients
- Milk powder 1.5 cups
- Ghee 2 tsp
- Milk ¼ cup + 2 tbsp
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pan.
- Add milk to it
- Allow it to boil and switch off
- Take milk powder in a bowl.
- Add milk ghee mixture to it and immediately mix it with laddle.
- Mix it continuously to avoid forming lumps and knead to form a ball. Mixture will be sticky while kneading.
- Store the instant khoya in refrigerator and use it as required in your recipe. You can grate or crumble them.
- Instant khoya is ready.
