Wheat appam Recipe | Instant Wheat Flour appam Recipe

Wheat appam is made with wheat flour, jaggery and banana.

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour ½ cup
  • Rice flour 1 tbsp
  • Banana 1 small
  • Jaggery ⅓ cup
  • Water 2-3 tbsp + extra for batter
  • Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Baking soda 2 pinch
  • Oil or ghee for roasting

Instructions

  • Take jaggery in a pan along with water.
  • Allow it to boil till it melts and filter to remove impurities and keep it ready.
  • Mash the banana.
  • Take all the ingredients in a bowl.
  • Add water little by little and mix to form batter.
  • Consistency should be thick like panniyaram batter.
  • Heat pan and drizzle with oil/ghee
  • Pour the batter in each hole and allow it to cook for one minute.
  • Then flip the appam and cook till golden.
  • Remove and enjoy them hot.

Notes

Adjust the jaggery according to the sweetness of banana.
You can deep fry them in oil/Ghee
Add some grated coconut to batter.
