Paneer Capsicum dry | Paneer Capsicum subzi

Simple and quick paneer capsicum dry which goes well with rice and rotis.

Ingredients

  • 200 gms Paneer
  • 1 medium capsicum
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 big onion
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp kasturi methi
  • salt as required
  • coriander leaves to garnish
  • 3 tbsp oil

To Temper

  • ½ tsp mustard
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp urad dal

Instructions

  • Heat oil and shallow fry the paneer. This step is optional. you can skip and add the paneer directly too.
  • In the same oil add the ingredients given in to temper list
  • Once it browns, add the onions and green chillies
  • Fry onions nicely till it is golden in colour
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and saute for few mins
  • Next add tomatoes and saute till it is mushy
  • Then add capsicum and fry for few mins
  • Now add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala.
  • Add little water and allow it to boil for 5 mins till the capsicum is cooked
  • Then add paneer and saute nicely for 1-2 mins
  • Finally add kasturi methi and mix nicely for 1 min and switch off the flame
  • Tranfer to serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves

Notes

Kasturi methi gives nice flavor to the dish. so don't skip it
Shallow frying the paneer is optional.
While shallow frying make sure you are not in hurry as paneer may crumble easily. Wait for few mins before flipping it.
