Whole Wheat Biscuits | Atta Biscuits recipe with step by step instructions and pictures. These are crispy and healthy biscuits prepared with wheat flour. Nowadays I prepare these biscuits in home very often as it is loved by my kids. It is very healthy as we prepare this with wheat instead of maida. Addition of cardamom adds nice flavor to the biscuits. You can skip if you don't like the taste. You can also flavor them with cinnamon or nutmeg.
This is very basic recipe which even a beginner can try. You can roll the biscuits in any shape and size you like. I adapted the recipe from here. You can enjoy these biscuits with hot cup of coffee/tea.
Whole Wheat Biscuits | Atta Biscuits
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Powdered Sugar ½ cup
- Butter ¼ cup
- Baking powder ¼ tsp
- Salt a pinch
- Cardamom powder ½ tsp
- curd 1 ½ tbsp
- Milk 2-3 tsp
Instructions
- Take wheat flour, baking powder, powdered sugar, salt, cardamom powder in a bowl and mix nicely.
- Add butter to the mixture and mix it with your fingertips. It will have crumbly texture.
- Then add curd and mix well
- Then few drops of milk and make a dough
- Place butter sheet and roll the dough and shape them as you like with cookie cutters. If you find it difficult to roll the dough you can refrigerate for half an hour. I was able to roll the dough without any issues
- Line the baking tray with parchment paper and arrange the biscuits
- Preheat the oven to 175°C for 10 minutes.
- Place the baking tray inside oven and bake in the same temperature for 12-15 minutes until it is crisp
- Remove from the oven immediately and cook it in wire rack
- Serve with hot Coffee.
