Praline Recipe | How to make Praline in home recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Praline is confectionery made with sugar, nuts and butter/cream. It is basically nuts coated with caramelized sugar. We can use them as topping for cakes, ice creams or any other desserts. It requires only 3 ingredients sugar, nuts and butter. It also takes less than 15 minutes to make these yummy bites.
I adapted the recipe from here. You can use any choice of nuts to make praline like cashews, badam, pista, walnuts but traditionally praline was made using Almonds. I like these crunchy bites in butterscotch ice cream. So made these to make butterscotch ice cream. I used brown sugar so color of the praline is dark. If you use white sugar praline color will be brown. Praline was so crisp and crunchy. You can make these and store in fridge and use as and when required.

Ingredients
- Brown sugar ½ cup
- Nuts ¼ cup
- butter 1 tbsp
Instructions
- Take ¼ cup nuts. I used pista and almonds.
- Take them in mortar and crush them.
- Crush them coarse. We can pulse them in mixer too.
- Transfer to plate and keep it ready
- Now take butter in pan and allow to melt
- Once it melts add sugar to it.
- Keep stirring in low flame as the sugar will start to melt.
- Then it will change to dark color
- Add the nuts at that time and switch off the flame
- Mix the nuts with sugar mixture
- Transfer the mixture to parchment and allow it to cool down and harden
- Once it hardens, you can break the pieces.
- Crush them in mortar or pulse in mixer.
- Praline is ready
- Use them in your favorite dessert.
