Broccoli Masala | Broccoli Gravy recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Learn how to make simple broccoli gravy for chapati, roti or side dish for rice. I started cooking broccoli after coming to UK only. Initially I didn't like the taste but gradually started liking it and now I do many dishes with broccoli. It is quite similar to cauliflower and we can do any dish we try with cauliflower with broccoli too.
It has lot of health benefits so I try to include it in different dishes to make my kids eat. I like the bright green color and it makes your dishes colorful too. Broccoli Masala | Broccoli Gravy recipe
Ingredients
- Broccoli 1 medium 300 grams
- Onion 3 finely chopped
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 tsp
- Garam masala ¾ tsp
- Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
- Curd 2 tbsp
- Milk ¼ cup
- Kasturi methi 1 tbsp
- Coriander leaves to garnish
- To Temper
- Bay leaf 1
- cloves 1
- Cardamom 1
- cinnamon small stick
- Oil 2 tsp
Instructions
- Cut and wash the broccoli and keep it ready.
- Heat oil in a pan and temper with ingredients under temper.
- Add finely chopped onions and saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
- Add broccoli and saute nicely for 2 minutes till it slightly shrinks.
- Now add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala.
- Add little water and allow the broccoli to cook.
- Once broccoli is cooked, add curd.
- Add milk and allow it to boil for 2 minutes.
- Then add kasturi methi and mix.
- Switch off the stove and garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve with rice/roti
