Double Beans Masala Recipe | Double beans curry recipe with step-by-step pictures and instructions. Double beans masala is a delicious and healthy dry curry made with double beans and spices. It goes well with rice as well as roti. You can combine it with other vegetables too.
Double beans also known as lima beans have a lot of health benefits. They are a rich source of antioxidants, dietary fiber and help to lower cholesterol. You can use fresh or dried ones. When using dried ones, soak them overnight. I love fresh ones more than dried ones. I love to make sundal, kuzhambu, salad, or dry gravy with lima beans.

Double Beans Masala Recipe | Double beans curry
Ingredients
- Fresh double beans 1 cup
- Onion 1 big
- Tomato 1 medium
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
- Tumeric powder ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Coriander powder ½ tsp
- Salt as required
- oil 2 tsp
- Mustard ½ tsp
- Urad dal ½ tsp
- Curry leaves few
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp finely chopped
Instructions
- Clean fresh double beans.
- Take the double beans to the cooker along with salt and water.
- Pressure cook it for 2 whistles in medium flame.
- Heat oil and temper with mustard, urad dal, and curry leaves.
- Add finely chopped onions and saute for a min.
- Next, add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.
- Then add tomatoes and saute till mushy.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder.
- Sprinkle little water and cook till the raw smell of masala goes.
- Add the cooked double beans to it and mix till everything is combined.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
- Double beans masala is ready.

How to make double beans masala with step by step pictures
