Mixed Spice Recipe | How to make Mixed Spice for Christmas cake recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Mixed spice is traditional British spice mixture made with all spice, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and other spices. We can use for Christmas fruit cakes, spiced muffins, cookies, pudding, pies etc. Even you can add this spice for milkshakes, smoothie and salads.
This is my version of mixed spice. Original version contains all spice which is dried berries from Jamaica. It has distinct flavor of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. I could not source all spice in Chennai so used more cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg to compensate for that flavor. I referred many recipes from internet and came up with my own version according to the available ingredients. It made my Christmas fruit cake and cup cakes so flavorful.
