Gobi 65 | Cauliflower 65 | Gobi fry recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Learn how to make crispy Gobi 65/ Gobi fry. Gobi 65 is cauliflower pieces marinated with masala and deep fried. Gobi 65 is most common vegetarian starter served in parties, marriages or in home. Most of my other fried recipes are adaptation of this recipe. My mom never use any ready made masala for any frying. I also follow the same and use normal spices only. There are many variations of Gobi 65. This is simple fry without any seasoning or sauces.

I do this often for my kids and it gets vanished very soon. I took the step by step pictures long back. But before I finish frying kids will start to eat and I am left with very little so could not take pictures. This time I reserved few to take pictures and gave the rest for eating. Corn flour gives crispiness to the dish.

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower 1 medium size
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Besan flour 1/3 cup
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • Water few drops to sprinkle

Instructions

  1. Cut and wash the cauliflower
  2. Add water, salt and turmeric powder to cauliflower and allow it to boil till it is half cooked.
  3. Drain the water from cauliflower and allow it to cool. You can run through cold water.
  4. Add salt, red chilli powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste, besan flour, corn flour to cauliflower.
  5. Add few drops of water and mix till it is nicely combined.
  6. Heat oil in kadai
  7. Once it is hot drop the marinated cauliflower and cook till it is golden brown in colour.
  8. Drain in kitchen tissue.
  9. Serve hot gobi 65 with tomato sauce.

Notes

You can replace corn flour with rice flour.

I half cook the cauliflower while boiling so it will be fully cooked soon while frying

How to make Gobi 65 with step by step pictures

Cut and wash the cauliflower

Add water, salt and turmeric powder to cauliflower and allow it to boil till 50% cooked.

Drain the water from cauliflower and allow it to cool. You can run through cold water.

Add salt, red chilli powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste, besan flour, corn flour to cauliflower.

Add few drops of water and mix everything till it is combined

Heat oil in kadai

Once it is hot drop the marinated cauliflower and cook till it is golden brown in colour.
