Aloo Chaat Recipe | Potato Chaat | Spicy Aloo Chaat recipe with step-by-step pictures and instructions. Aloo chaat or potato chaat is one of the popular street food recipes made with potatoes, spices, and different chaat chutneys. Usually, potatoes are deep-fried and tossed with spices, red chutney, green chutney, tamarind chutney, and garnished with sev, and pomegranate pearls.
I shallow-fried the potatoes and made this delicious and lip-smacking chaat. It is so quick to put together when we have chutneys ready. As with any chaat recipe, you can add any spices or toppings of your choice and enjoy the chaat. I always love to add extra chutney. Let's see how to make this easy and quick aloo chaat.

Aloo Chaat Recipe | Potato Chaat | Spicy Aloo Chaat
Ingredients
- Boiled and cubed potatoes 1 cup
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Red chutney 2 tbsp or as required
- Green chutney 3 tbsp or as required
- Sweet chutney 3 tbsp or as required
- Salt as required
- Onion 3 tbsp finely chopped
- Tomato 2 tbsp finely chopped
- Chaat masala to sprinkle
- Sev as required
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes for 1-2 whistles, peel the skin and cube them.
- To the boiled potatoes, add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder .
- Toss them nicely till combined.
- Heat oil in the pan and add the potatoes.
- Shallow fry them till golden.
- Take potatoes in the bowl
- Add the onions and tomato on top of it.
- Then add red chutney, green chutney and sweet chutney.
- Sprinkle some salt and chaat masala.
- Mix everything till combined
- Garnish with sev, pomegranate pearls and serve.
- Delicious Aloo Chaat is ready.
Notes
How to make Aloo Chaat with step by step pictures
Boil the potatoes for 1-2 whistles, peel the skin and cube them. To the boiled potatoes, add salt, turmeric powder, and red chilli powder.
Toss them nicely till combined.
Heat oil in the pan and add the potatoes.
Shallow fry them till golden.
Take potatoes in the bowl
Add the onions and tomato on top of it.
Then add red chutney, green chutney, and sweet chutney.
Sprinkle some salt and chaat masala.
Mix everything till combined
Garnish with sev, pomegranate pearls, and serve. Delicious Aloo Chaat is ready.
