Ragi Banana chocolate Cake Recipe | Eggless Finger millet chocolate cake recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Ragi banana chocolate cake is one of healthy and nutritious cake made using ragi flour, banana and cocoa powder as main ingredients. I use my ripe bananas in baking without wasting them. Cocoa powder will help to hide the taste of ragi as well as bananas and kids will enjoy them. I baked in my mini loaf pan and it got vanished so soon. You can double or triple the recipe.
Ragi has lot of health benefits and rich in calcium which helps in strengthening of bones. It helps in weight loss as well as good for diabetes as it reduces sugar level. We can make variety of dishes using finger millet. Ragi porridge is one of the first solid foods introduced to babies. We make Ragi Kali or Ragi koozh. Ragi Dosa or Ragi chapati is one of the good option for breakfast or dinner. Ragi chocolate cake is good alternative to regular dishes we make with finger millet and perfect for kids snacks box. Base recipe is almost similar to my eggless cakes recipes.

Ragi Banana chocolate Cake Recipe | Finger millet chocolate cake
Ingredients
- Ragi flour 1 cup
- Cocoa powder 3 tbsp
- Baking powder ½ tsp
- Baking soda ½ tsp
- Brown sugar ½ cup + 2 tbsp
- Ripe banana 3
- Oil ⅓ cup
- Milk ½ cup
- Vinegar 1 tsp
- Vanilla essence 1 tbsp
- Chopped Walnuts ¼ cup
Instructions
- Take ragi flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda in a sieve
- Sieve them 5-6 times and keep it ready
- Take ripe bananas and mash them. You can use blender too.
- Add milk to bananas
- Then add sugar, oil, vanilla essence and vinegar.
- Mix it nicely with hand whisk till everything is combined
- Then add flour in batches and mix it till everything is combined without lumps
- Add chopped walnuts or any nuts of your choice to the batter.
- Grease the baking tin with butter and dust with little flour.
- Pour the batter to greased tin and tap the tin to release air
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake in the same temperature for 35-40 minutes
- Remove from oven and cool the cake completely in wire rack and slice them.
- Enjoy cake with Tea/Coffee

thank you for this amazing recipe. Just wanted to know that generally all the recipes call for 1 tsp vanilla essence while yours says 1 tbsp. Any specific reason for this?
