Sathu maavu is health mix powder usually prepared for babies using different pulses, grains and nuts. Health mix powder ladoo is simple and quick recipe which can be prepared in less than 30 minutes with just three main ingredients health mix powder, jaggery and ghee. Perfect for kids snack box or evening snacks.
Even a beginner can try this recipe as there is no consistency required. You can use store bought health mix powder or homemade powder. I used to make health mix powder in home for kids and nowadays they are not eating it. So didn't make them quite long time. In Tamilnadu, government provides health mix powder for pregnant ladies, government school kids free of cost. My SIL's mom got from there and I was doubtful how it will be. But to my surprise quality and taste was so good and I will surely recommend to get it. It was lying in my pantry for long time so decided to make these simple and easy treats.
After posting month long mega marathon I was not well for more than a week and feeling so tired most of the times. Been so busy with work and other personal work too. So took a short break from posting new recipes. Now I am back to form and look forward to some delightful diwali treat. Diwali is coming next week and I am starting the diwali series with this healthy and nutririous ladoo recipe.

Ingredients
- Sathu maavu 1 cup
- Jaggery ½ cup
- Water 2 tbsp
- Ghee ¼ cup
- Cardamom powder 1 tsp
- Nuts handful optional
Instructions
- Dry roast health mix powder in low flame for 5-7 minutes till nice aroma comes.
- Heat jaggery along with water in a pan.
- Switch off the flame once jaggery is melted.
- Strain the jaggery mixture to remove impurities.
- Add the jaggery mixture to sathu maavu.
- Mix it together so it resembles bread crumbs.
- Add cardamom powder to it.
- Heat ghee and add handful of cashews
- Fry them till light golden
- Mix the ghee to mixture slowly and shape them.
- Add ghee little by little and form small ladoo
- Repeat the same for rest of the mixture
- Delicious healthy and nutritious sathu maavu ladoo is ready.
