Chilli Chapati Recipe | Leftover Chapathi recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Chilli chapati is a modified version of chilli parotta made with leftover chapati. You can make this as evening snacks, or for dinner, or breakfast. In restaurants, they deep fry the chapati, but I have added them directly.
You can deep fry or shallow fry the chapati. Toss the chapati in high flame with sauces for delicious chapati chilli. Serve it with simple raita or any gravy. I will have them as such without any side dish. You can also make Chapati noodles, egg kothu chapati, or chapati pizza with leftover chapati.
You can make Rice cutlet, or rice pakoda with leftover rice and chilli idli, or idli fry with leftover idli and Upma uttapam with leftover upma. Let's check out to make this spicy and delicious chapati chilli.

Chilli Chapati Recipe | Leftover Chapathi recipe
Ingredients
- Chapati 2
- Onion 1
- Capsicum ½
- Green chilli 2
- Garlic 2 big
- Tomato 1 small
- Salt as required
- Red chilli powder ¾ tsp
- Soya sauce 1 tsp optional
- Garam masala ¼ tsp optional
- Coriander leaves to garnish
- Oil 1 tbsp
Instructions
- Shred the chapati into pieces and keep it ready
- Heat oil and add finely chopped garlic and green chillies.
- Once it browns add the cubed onions and saute in high flame for 1 minute.
- Then add the chopped tomatoes and saute till mushy.
- Now add chopped capsicum and saute.
- Then add red chilli powder, salt, soya sauce and mix. Add little water and saute for 2-3 minutes
- Finally, add the cut chapati pieces and saute in high flame till everything combined. Check out seasoning and add as required.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
- Chilli chapati is ready. Serve it with raita or tomato sauce.
