Kadalai paruppu sweet sundal is a simple and healthy sweet sundal made with chana dal, sugar, and grated coconut. Cardamom powder lends a nice flavor to the sweet sundal. It is one of the traditional recipes served at weddings. It is so quick and simple to make.

    Chana dal sweet sundal is a simple and healthy sweet sundal made with chana dal, sugar, and grated coconut.

    Total Time 10 minutes minutes

    Ingredients

    • Chana Dal ½ cup
    • Sugar 1-2 tbsp
    • Cardamom powder ½ tsp
    • Grated coconut 2-3 tbsp optional

    Instructions

    • Soak chana dal for ½ hour.
    • Wash and boil the chana dal.
    • Cook it till done.
    • Take chana dal in a bowl
    • Add sugar/jaggery powder, cardamom powder and grated coconut to it and mix.
    • Chana Dal Sweet sundal is ready.

    Notes

    Adjust the sweetness according to your taste
    Chana dal should be cooked just right without being mushy.

    How to make chana dal sweet sundal with step by step pictures

    Soak chana dal for ½ hour.

    Take chana dal in a bowl

      This is my favorite kind of sundal growing up. I used to look forward to weddings or special occasion and Navarathri to enjoy this sweet sundal. It has been a while since I made it and thanks to your recipe, I made some last evening and enjoyed it.
