Hyagreeva Maddi Recipe | Hyagriva maddi | Chana Dal Halwa recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Hyagreeva maddi is popular sweet recipe from Udupi cuisine made with chana dal, jaggery and coconut. It is offered as prasadam to Lord Vishnu. Hyagreeva is one of the avatar of Lord Vishnu and it is named after him.
One of the most popular recipe made during festivals and occasions in Udupi. Don’t forget to try this sweet for Diwali. It is one of the simple recipe where there is no consistency involved so beginners can try this sweet. Method of preparation is quite similar to how we make suffing for Poli. But there is difference in taste and texture.
Monday again and theme for this week in FoodieMondayBloghop group is #268TropicalCoconut suggested by me. I had few coconut recipes in my drafts so suggested recipes using coconut or Srilankan recipes. Coconut won with maximum votes. My humble contribution for the theme is Hyagreeva maddi.
