Millet Pulao Recipe | Little Millet Pulao | Samai Pulao Recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Millet Pulao is healthy and nutritious pulao made with little millet/samai. Little millet is also called Samai in tamil and it is rich in fiber and contains lot of minerals. It is healthy alternative to pulao made with rice.
Add any veggies of your choice and make it for quick lunch/dinner. Serve it with simple onion raita. I always like to eat millet in variety rice rather than separately with curry. I made in open pot method you can use pressure cooker too. You can substitute it with any type of millets. Now let's check how to make this healthy millets pulao.

Millet Pulao Recipe | Little Millet Pulao | Samai Pulao Recipe
Ingredients
- Little Millet/Samai ½ cup
- Water 1 ¼ cup
- oil 2 tsp
- Bay leaf 1
- Cloves 1
- Cinnamon small stick
- Onions 1 medium
- Green chilli 2
- Ginger garlic paste 1.5 tsp
- Mixed veggies ¾ cup
- Garam masala ½ tsp
- Salt as required
Instructions
- Wash and soak the little millet for 30 minutes. Drain water and keep it aside.
- Heat oil and temper with bay leaf, cloves and cinnamon
- Then add finely chopped onions and slit green chillies. Saute till slightly golden.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
- Next add the chopped vegetables and saute for a minute.
- Then add salt and garam masala.
- Sprinkle little water and cook till vegetables are 60% cooked.
- Then add water and allow it to boil.
- Once it boils add the washed millet.
- Boil in medium flame for 5 minutes.
- Close the lid and cook for 10 minutes in low flame.
- Gently fluff up the pulao and serve hot.
- Healthy little millet pulao is ready.

How to make Little Millet Pulao with step by step pictures
