Kadai Paneer Recipe | How to make Kadai Paneer recipe with step-by-step pictures and instructions. Kadai paneer is spicy and flavorful gravy made with paneer and Kadai masala. It is a typical restaurant-style side dish for roti, phulkas, or naan. It goes well with jeera rice or plain rice too.
Kadai or karahi masala is made with coriander seeds, fennel, jeera, pepper, and red chili. Dry roast the spices and grind them to a coarse powder. You can prepare them as semi-dry or gravy versions. I used my homemade paneer to prepare this lip-smacking curry. I shallow fried the paneer in the air fryer which saves a lot of time. Serve it at parties and it will be surely a hit recipe.

Kadai Paneer Recipe | How to make Kadai Paneer
Ingredients
- Onion 2
- Tomatoes 3-4
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
- Green chilli 1
- Ginger juvenile 1 tsp
- Capsicum ½ cup
- Cream 2-3 tbsp optional
- salt as required
- Kadai masala 2-3 tsp
- Kasuri methi 1-2 tbsp
To Marinate paneer
- Paneer 200 grams
- Salt ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder ½ tsp
To temper
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Cloves 2
- Cinnamon small stick
- Bay leaf 1
Instructions
- Cut the paneer as cubes and marinate with salt, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder
- Mix till it is nicely coated and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C for 3 minutes. Place the paneer cubes in the basket and air fry them for 8- 10 minutes.
- Shake the tray once after 5 minutes.
- Heat oil and temper with cloves, cinnamon, and bay leaf
- Add finely chopped onions and saute for 1 minute
- Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
- Then add finely chopped tomatoes and saute till mushy.
- Next add the kadai masala, green chilli and salt.
- Sprinkle little water and boil for 2 minutes.
- Then add chopped capsicum.
- Add water and allow it to cook for 5-7 minutes
- Then add cream to the mixture.
- Next, add roasted paneer to it and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Finally, add the kasuri methi and garnish with coriander leaves and ginger juvenille.
- Flavorful Kadai Paneer is ready.
