Ingredients

  • Beetroot 2 1/2 cups grated
  • Sugar 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Cashews 1/4 cup
  • Milk 1/2 litre or 500 grams
  • Ghee 1-2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan
  2. Add cashews to it
  3. Roast them till golden and transfer to plate.
  4. In the same pan add grated beetroot.
  5. Saute then for 4-5 minutes
  6. Then add milk to beetroot.
  7. Keep stirring continuously and cook beetroot in milk
  8. Once the beetroot is cooked and milk is reduced add sugar.
  9. Keep stirring till it comes together.
  10. Add roasted cashews and cardamom powder to it
  11. Delicious beetroot halwa is ready
  12. Enjoy it warm with ice cream.

Notes

Adjust the sugar according to your taste.

You can any nuts of your preference.

Since we use milk, keep it in fridge and warm when serving

You can use condensed milk instead of milk and reduce the sugar.

How to make beetroot halwa with step by step pictures

Heat ghee in a pan and add cashews to it

Roast them till golden and transfer to plate.
