Kadalai Paruppu Pooranam Kozhukattai | Chana dal Modak recipe with step-by-step pictures and instructions. Kadalai paruppu pooranam kozhukattai is steamed modaks made with rice flour and stuffed with sweet chana dal. It is commonly made during Vinayaga Chaturti and other festivals.
Chana dal, jaggery, and coconut are one of the most versatile stuffing used in Poli, suviyam, and many other dishes. I love to eat it as such too. I have shared the traditional method of making modaks by soaking rice which yields so soft kozhukattai. You can shape them in your hands or using moulds.
