It is a typical south Indian style poriyal made with coconut and green chili. It is a perfect accomplishment for rice.
This is one of the quick and easy poriyal which gets ready in 15 minutes. We make kootu, poriyal, and chutney with snake gourd. You can use green chili or red chili for spiciness. How to make snake gourd poriyal with step-by-step pictures.
Wash and slice the snake gourd. Finely chop the onions and slit green chili
Heat oil and temper with mustard, urad dal, and curry leaves.
Once it browns add the finely chopped onions and slit green chili.
Saute for 2 minutes and then add chopped snake gourd and saute for few mins
Add little water, close the lid and allow it to cook.
Once it is cooked and all water is absorbed, add the grated coconut and give a quick stir.
Pudalangai Poriyal is ready.
